About
Cassie understands the importance of finding the right ‘fit’ in a therapist and works from a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to ensure clients feel safe and validated. Cassie encourages clients to:
- ask questions
- voice concerns
- speak up if something doesn't feel 'right' or 'ok' in therapy.
- bring in family/friends for support

Cassie supports clients to be themselves during sessions. This might look like:
- using fidgets in sessions
- having movement breaks
- special interest discussions and conversation side quests
- changing the pace of sessions as needed

Cassie values the unique life experiences of each client, and the knowledge and wisdom they bring to sessions. She understands that every human response has an origin story, and is a coping strategy for life's challenges. Cassie has a particular interest in trauma and how distressing life experiences can shape these coping strategies.
Cassie employs collaboration with clients to help them discover what coping strategies are still working well, and which ones are not. The ultimate aim of this approach, is that clients learn the skills to become their own therapists.
